After Hours explores the world of African wildlife beyond sunset, when familiar landscapes are transformed by darkness and the behaviour of their inhabitants begins to change. Working with light as both a creative and storytelling element, the collection reveals moments rarely witnessed—from the silent approach of a hunting hyena to the breath of a lion or giraffe illuminated in the cool night air. Together, these images offer a glimpse into a side of Africa that few have the opportunity to experience.

Night changes everything. In the darkness, wildlife becomes quieter, mysterious, and more instinctive. Familiar animals take on an entirely different presence — buffalo become monumental, giraffe appear almost spectral, and predators move through the landscape with a silence that feels ancient.

After Hours explores the African wilderness in the hours beyond sunset, when the landscape is stripped of certainty and the familiar world begins to shift: Buffalo standing their ground in shadow, giraffe suspended against the night, and predators moving with quiet intent. In these images, light becomes both subject and instrument. A breath illuminated in cold air, the edge of a horn, the glint of an eye, or the outline of a body is enough to suggest an entire unseen world.
Photographing at night required a different kind of patience. The challenge was not simply to see, but to decide how much to reveal. Too much light would dissolve the atmosphere; too little would leave the moment untold. That tension became central to the series, allowing the images to exist between documentation and dream.
After Hours is a study of presence in darkness — of instinct, restraint, and the hidden theatre of the African night. It offers a glimpse into a world rarely witnessed, where the wild does not disappear with the sun, but becomes something more elusive, more primal, and more profound.
