Most people picture safari as daylight — golden plains, animals in full view. But Africa changes once the sun drops, and so does everything that moves through it. Hyenas belong to that other hour. I caught this one only as an outline, backlit and half-formed, because that's honestly how you experience them out there — not as a clear sighting, but as a shape, a presence, something registering just past what you can fully make out. I wasn't trying to document the animal. I was trying to hold onto the feeling of that hour, when sound starts to matter more than sight and the dark stops feeling empty.
All prints are produced with archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle FineArt paper for museum-grade longevity and exceptional colour accuracy.
