Photographed under a sky heavy with weather, this is Tee-Jay at the moment the great bulls begin to return — drawn in from the peripheries to interact with the matriarchal herds that anchor Amboseli. He wasn't always this composed in front of the lens. The first encounter was tense, his body language alert, every movement cautious around something unfamiliar. By the second or third meeting, that changed. Something in him settled, the wariness gave way to something closer to trust, and what's captured here is the result: a tusker at ease, unhurried, entirely himself. Time does something to these encounters that a single sighting never could — it doesn't just deepen the photograph. It deepens the understanding behind it.
All prints are produced with archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle FineArt paper for museum-grade longevity and exceptional colour accuracy.
